Olive oil was the absolute protagonist at the Mediterranean Diet Roundtable, a major event on healthy eating that brings together key decision makers from the food industry, including doctors, nutritionists and directors of nutritional quality programmes, with the aim of encouraging consumers to opt for a healthy, balanced diet. The workshop, organised by the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West as part of the “Valorisation and promotion of authentic Italian agri-food products” project, underlined – thanks to the participation of ‘olive oil masters’ – the importance of eating quality, Italian extra-virgin olive oil as part of a healthy balanced diet. The event also included a guided tasting, where six companies from different regions of Italy presented their products to 160 people.
