Assocamerestero, in collaboration with the Camera di Commercio Industria, Artigianato e Agricoltura di Foggia (Chamber of Commerce for Industry, Craftsmanship and Agriculture of Foggia), presented the initial results of the “True Italian Taste” initiative at a press conference in Foggia.
Overall, the figures for the first 18 months of the programme were both positive and significant:

  • 1.500 B2B meetings, organised throughout Italy, involving 600 companies and 65 foreign buyers, selected by various overseas branches of the Italian Chamber of Commerce;
  • 3.000 influencers and over 450-thousand ‘foodies’ participated in 890 overseas events;
  • Creation of a special app, 100% Made in Italy, EVO olive oil;
  • Training of approximately 900 sales representatives at cookery masterclasses, to promote knowledge of authentic Italian products on the international market.

 In 2018, the project will also be launched in Asia, with the support of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The press conference was presented by Fabio Porreca, President of the Foggia Chamber of Commerce and Vice President of Unioncamere. The other speakers were Michele Emiliano, Governor of Regione Puglia, Colomba Mongiello, Vice President of the Parliamentary Commission of the investigation on counterfeit goods of the House of Representatives, and Gaetano Fausto Esposito, Secretary-General of Assocamerestero, who revealed the results to the audience.
